What’s the Big Deal about Clean Beauty Brands?

I did a deep dive into the beauty world of products and realized just how awful most of them are for us. I am talking about extremely toxic ingredients that disrupt our hormones, irritate our skin and may even cause cancer.

In my opinion, this is where we can’t really turn a blind eye, can we? We may eat things that are not necessarily good for us, I mean, who can turn down a greasy, delicious cheeseburger every once in a while? But I just haven’t found a good reason to buy a product that is not clean. And that’s probably because there are clean options out there that are just as easily accessible and affordable as the toxic ones.

The main reason I started looking into clean companies is because of fragrance. One of the few companies that sell clean fragrance is Dime Beauty. Did you know most fragrances contain phthalates which are chemicals that help the scent last longer. This is a major hormone disruptor and a big fat no for me. So when I found out Dime sells clean fragrances, I became more interested in their other products, especially due to being EWG verified. Search Results || Skin Deep® Cosmetics Database | EWG

My favorite Dime products are 7 Summers perfume, Felt Cute perfume, TBT cream & TBT serum & tinted lip balm. And if you like eyelash and eyebrow serums, Dime has great ones. https://glnk.io/5w0yp/strawberrylanephotos This link gets you 30% off their products for Black Friday (commissionable link)

Whatever products you choose and whatever brand you go with, you can research it on the EWG website which gives products ratings based on their clean/toxic ingredients.

Other brands I would recommend are: Ilia, bareMinerals and Derma-e. They also received great ratings on the EWG.

I hope you found this helpful and you will consider purchasing clean beauty products. It’s the one thing we can control a healthier journey in life.
